Live GPS speed test
Metro Speed Test
Measure metro or subway train speed online when your phone has a usable GPS signal.
Live speed above ground.
Metro lines with elevated or surface-level sections have strong GPS signal. Zpeed works well between stations on these stretches.
GPS drops in tunnels.
Underground sections block GPS satellite signals and the reading shows 0. It resumes automatically when the metro surfaces or enters an open station.
How fast is the metro?
Most urban metro systems cruise at 60–90 km/h between stations. Tap Start tracking at the next above-ground section to find out.
Works from any browser.
Open Zpeed on any modern phone browser. Nothing to download or log in to.
Metro speed test
GPS may be limited underground. Use Zpeed where location signal is available.
Good to know
Things worth knowing.
01 Why does it show 0 underground? ⌄
GPS requires satellite signals, which cannot penetrate deep underground. The reading drops to 0 in tunnels and recovers when the train reaches a surface or elevated section.
02 Does it work on metro systems that run mostly underground? ⌄
Partially. You will get readings on surface or elevated sections. For systems that run entirely underground, GPS will be unavailable for most of the journey.
03 Will it work at open-cut stations? ⌄
Open-cut or elevated stations often have enough sky visibility for a GPS fix. Deep underground stations typically will not.
