01 Browser GPS

Your phone's GPS, via the web.

Zpeed uses the browser's Geolocation API to read GPS speed directly. No native app, no Bluetooth device, no account.

02 Privacy first

No data leaves your device.

Speed is calculated locally in your browser tab. Your coordinates are never sent to a server.

03 Any vehicle

Car, train, bike, boat — the GPS chip does not know the difference. Zpeed works wherever you are moving under open sky.

Change units any time during a session. Your choice saves for future visits.

Zpeed - Online Speedometer in your pocket

Zpeed helps you find your real-time speed in km/h. No installation needed. Use it right away! Zpeed is a progressive web app which you can use offline in latest browsers like Google Chrome.

Some browsers and devices have support issues with geoLocation API. If you are not getting correct location, make sure you are in GPS mode in location settings and you gave location permission to both the Browser and Webpage. Or, try with another browser.

Good to know

Things worth knowing.

01 How does a browser access GPS?

Modern browsers expose the device GPS chip through the Geolocation API. Zpeed requests your permission, then receives a position and speed reading a few times per second.

02 Is browser GPS as accurate as a dedicated GPS device?

In open sky, modern phones achieve position accuracy of 10–40 metres, which gives very good speed measurements. Dedicated GPS units can outperform phones in challenging conditions, but for everyday use the phone is more than sufficient.

03 Do I need a data connection for GPS to work?

No. GPS communicates with satellites directly from your phone's hardware. An internet connection is only needed to load the page initially.
