Live GPS speed test
Car Speed Test
Measure your car speed live using your phone GPS, with no app download required.
See how close your speedo is.
Your phone's GPS shows actual over-ground speed. Compare it to the dashboard reading — most factory speedometers read slightly high by design.
Unfamiliar dash? No problem.
On hire cars with foreign units or metric/imperial confusion, Zpeed gives you an independent readout in whichever unit you prefer.
Log your highway pace.
Trip stats show average and maximum speed over the session. Useful for tracking how consistent your motorway cruising actually is.
Speed on winding terrain.
GPS reads your actual over-ground speed regardless of gradient or road curvature. The dashboard can lag in steep or tight corners.
Independent of mapping apps.
Zpeed uses the GPS chip directly, separate from any navigation app running in parallel. A useful cross-check if readings differ.
Hand it to someone else.
Nothing to log in to, nothing to configure beyond choosing km/h or mph. Mount it on the dash or pass it to your passenger.

Good to know
Things worth knowing.
01 Is GPS more accurate than my car's speedometer? ⌄
GPS reads actual over-ground speed. Car speedometers are calibrated to read slightly high by design, and tyre wear can shift the reading further. At highway speeds the difference is usually 2–5 km/h.
02 Does it work with the phone in a dashboard mount? ⌄
Yes. A clear view of the sky helps GPS lock faster. A windshield mount is ideal; a cupholder or flat surface works once the signal is already acquired.
03 Why does it read differently from my navigation app? ⌄
Both use GPS, but they may apply different smoothing or update rates. Small differences are normal. Neither replaces a calibrated traffic-enforcement device.
